What is meter calibration?
Meter calibration establishes the true performance of the flow meter by comparing it with a reference device, traceable to the appropriate National Standard.
Why calibrate?
Without regular calibration you cannot have confidence in the accuracy of your meter. This is important both financially, if the meter is used for billing, as well as the safe and efficient operation of your process or facility.
Our calibration capability
ACC are currently creating independent, traceable flow meter calibration facilities offering both laboratory-based and mobile (site-based) services.
A high capacity flexible-fixed facility is being built in Dammam’s Industrial Zone 2. The primary reference is a small volume prover (SVP), which is used in conjunction with a series of master meters. Key operational parameters will be:
- Flow rates up to 13,500 l/min
- Pressure up to 50bar
- Temperature 20 °C to 50 °C
- Calibrate using water and oils
- Meter sizes up to 16 inches
ACC are also creating a number of mobile calibration rigs. The first rig utilises Coriolis reference meters and can be connected either directly in series with your meter or used with a separate pump set / storage tank to create a tempor ary calibration loop at your premises. Key operational parameters will be:
- Flow rates up to 2,500 l/min
- Pressure up to 10bar
- Temperature up to 50 °C
- Calibrate using different liquids
- Meter sizes up to 4 inches
